My students have been exploring the possibilities of Google Cardboard. Cardboard was designed for Android devices in 2014. Apple released Cardboard apps this past May. I learned about GC this summer at a couple of professional development trainings. The cost of the cardboard viewer is very reasonable. I purchased several viewers from Amazon for $4.03 so each student had their own. The Google Cardboard app is free. The challenge came with the device to run the app. I thought that we would be able to use our iPods, but I quickly found out that most apps would not download because they require 8.0 or later. Our iPods were purchased several years ago and cannot be updated anymore. There are a few apps that we could use, and we could also watch 360° videos on YouTube. Cardboard is great when paired with a smartphone. The students had a lot of fun.
